Sepia officinalis is a remedy made from squid ink. This black oily liquid, also known as sepia, is produced by the marine cephalopod mollusk as a defence mechanism.
Non-toxic, squid ink is rich in amino acids and trace elements.
Sepia officinalis is mainly used to treat women's gynaecological problems, such as menstrual disorders, pregnancy and menopause. But it is also used for many other conditions.
It is used to treat gastrointestinal disorders such as constipation and bloating, and is often recommended for recurrent depression.

It is also used in the treatment of vaginal mycosis and irritating leucorrhoea, usually accompanied by itching, and a woman may resort to this remedy if sexual intercourse is very painful.
Sepia officinalis is also recommended during the menopause, especially if the patient's face becomes very pale, suffers from heat waves and is less tolerant to heat.
It is also prescribed for pregnant women who suffer from nausea and migraines located on the left side of the skull.
Finally, Sepia officinalis can be used to treat acute or chronic urinary tract infections.

In dermatology, Sepia officinalis cures herpes, eczema and skin mycoses.
It is also used in the treatment of many other skin conditions, such as acne on the mouth or lips, or psoriasis followed by dry skin and cracking at the elbow or knee.

Sepia officinalis is mainly indicated for general fatigue, depression manifested by crying in children, withdrawal, anxiety or sadness.

In addition to the pathologies already mentioned, Sepia officinalis relieves certain otorhinolaryngological and respiratory infections.
In fact, it can cure rhinitis and bronchitis and take part in the basic treatment of asthma.
