Lachesis mutus is a homeopathic remedy extracted from the venom of the Lachesis snake.
This type of snake belongs to the family Viperidae, highly venomous snakes usually found in the forests of Central and South America.
There are 3 main species, the most important of which is the Lachesis Muta, commonly known as the "Master of the Bush" or "Dumb Rattlesnake".
The Lachesis, or Surukuku, or Jararaca, lives in a nature reserve on a Brazilian island that is strictly off-limits to tourists.
Its venom is poisonous and, once inside the body, coagulates the blood, forming clots and causing a localised infection that later develops into gangrene.
The poison is used to make lachesis mutus, an effective remedy for treating mental disorders and deep wounds.
This remedy is ideal for people who are very jealous, afraid of being less loved, self-centred, etc.
Gynaecological disorders
Lachesis mutus is used to treat premenstrual syndrome, such as breast swelling, nervousness, weight gain, etc.
It is also used to relieve women who suffer from dysmenorrhoea, those whose periods are light or who have not had a period for 3, 4 or 5 months or even longer.
Women who have reached the age of menopause can use this remedy to better deal with the associated disorders, i.e. hot flushes, heart palpitations, fear of heat, headaches, bruising under the skin, etc.
Proctology
Lachesis mutus is used to help people who feel that the inside of their rectum is swollen, or who bleed and have some pain when defecating.
ENT and respiratory infections
Sinusitis, rhinitis and otitis can also be cured with Lachesis mutus.
If the cold is chronic and the person cannot breathe properly, this remedy should be given.
Lachesis mutus should be used to treat angina, which is manifested by severe pain in the throat, making it impossible to swallow hot liquids.
Lachesis mutus can also be used to relieve asthma attacks.
Behavioural disorder
Outbursts of jealousy, nightmares (dreams of dead people or snakes) and recurrent sighing may be relieved by lachesis mutus.
People with a changeable mood may find relief from lachesis mutus.
Dermatology
Lachesis mutus is ideal for treating herpes, bruises or abscesses.
It also helps to prevent or reduce eczema, with or without redness, and acne.
Endocrinology
Lachesis mustus can be used for heatstroke, insomnia or weight loss due to a hormonal condition such as thyroid disease.
