Precautions for use

Caution! Rosemary verbenone essential oil can only be used by adults and adolescents in diluted form on the skin.

It is therefore not recommended for pregnant women or babies, and children under 6 years of age should seek medical advice.

The presence of terpenes makes it irritating to the skin and respiratory tract.

Other precautions

Warning:

  • People with asthma should seek medical advice before using this essential oil.
  • Do not use rosemary verbenone essential oil for long periods without consulting a therapist.

Cutaneous use:

  • Rosemary verbenone essential oil is irritating to the skin and should be diluted in vegetable oil (20% essential oil with 80% vegetable oil) before application.
  • Children under 6 years of age may use this essential oil diluted on the skin under medical supervision.
  • Pregnant women may exceptionally use this essential oil in diluted form on the skin under medical supervision.

Allergenic components:

Rosemary verbenone essential oil contains few allergenic biochemical components:

  • Limonene (≤5%)
  • Linalool (1-3%)
  • Geraniol (≤4%)

Note: It is best to test the essential oil before use (two drops on the crease of the elbow for at least 24 hours to check for a reaction).

Indications

Directions for use/usual dosage

  • Sinusitis, bronchitis: apply to the back and chest diluted 15% in a vegetable oil.
  • Hepatic disorders: as an unction on the liver diluted 15% in a vegetable oil and/or 1 to 2 drops diluted or on a neutral base 2 to 3 times a day (caution by mouth: on indication).
  • Physical and nervous fatigue: applied to the upper back, spine and soles of the feet, diluted 15% in a vegetable oil.
