Precautions for use

Caution! Lavandula Stoechas essential oil is mainly used on the skin.

Rich in fenchon, this essential oil is reserved for adults and adolescents.

It is absolutely forbidden for pregnant women as it is an abortifacient.

Other precautions

Warning:

  • The oral use of Lavandula Stoechas essential oil is reserved for therapeutic use on prescription.
  • It may be used by children under medical supervision.
  • People with asthma should seek medical advice before using.

Cutaneous use:

  • It is essential to dilute Lavandula Stoechas essential oil 20% in vegetable oil (20% essential oil in 80% vegetable oil) before applying to the skin.
  • Prolonged use may cause allergic reactions in very sensitive patients.

Contraindications:

  • Lavandula Stoechas essential oil is contraindicated in people with heart problems.
  • This essential oil has a strong abortifacient effect and is therefore not recommended for pregnant women.

Allergenic components:

Lavandula Stoechas essential oil contains two biochemical allergenic components:

  • linalool (2 to 14%)
  • limonene (≤3%)

Note: It is best to test the essential oil before use (two drops on the crease of the elbow for at least 24 hours to check for a reaction).

Indications

Directions for use/usual dosage

  • To relieve congestion in the lower respiratory tract, mix with other EOs (sweet clover, niaouli) diluted in an oil and massage the chest and upper back.
  • For ear infections, apply a drop diluted in an oil behind the ears.
  • For wounds and difficult scars, massage locally, mixed with Italian Helichrysum EO diluted in an OV.
