Ingredients
- 20 g dried gentian roots
- 100 ml of alcohol 70 ° (alcohol for internal consumption, consult your pharmacy).
- You can also use instead of 70° alcohol, cognac or vodka.
- To soften the bitterness you can use 10 g of bitter orange peel and to increase the digestive effect add 5 g of calamus-aromaticum .
Preparation
- Put the 20 g dried gentian roots (and if you prefer, also add the 10 g bitter orange peel and the 5 g calamus-aromaticum) in a jar.
- Add the 100 ml of alcohol (if you prefer cognac or vodka).
- Close the jar.
- Mix for about 2 min.
- Protect this bottle from light for 10 to 15 days.
- Shake the bottle regularly every 1 or 2 days.
- Filter
- Store this tincture in a tightly sealed colored glass bottle, away from heat.
- Label it (Gentian Root tincture with the date of manufacture.
Dosage
Internal Use
- Mix 5 drops of this tincture with some water and drink before meals.
External use
- Apply the tincture directly to the skin.
Observations
Since this tincture contains alcohol, this remedy is contraindicated for people who cannot drink alcohol for medical reasons, for pregnant women, and for children.
