Side effects

In cases of prolonged use it can cause a deficiency of B vitamins and other side effects.

Pregnancy, lactation and hypertension.

Interactions

Diabetic patients taking hydrastrast (goldenseal), concomitant with the use of the drug metformin, may unintentionally sabotage their efforts to maintain healthy blood glucose levels.
