The benefits of essential oils are many and their uses are varied.
It is no wonder that there are tens of thousands of aromatic plants in the world, each secreting essential oils for very specific reasons.
Moreover, each essential oil contains hundreds of different aromatic molecules, with a dozen or so major aromatic molecules and a multitude of aromatic molecules in minute concentrations!
This incredible biochemical diversity results in a wide range of potential properties and benefits that are difficult to summarise.
However, the uses of essential oils can be summarised as follows:
- For ENT and respiratory disorders, through antiviral, antibacterial, expectorant properties, etc.
- For nervous disorders, through calming (or even sedative) or stimulating properties, through analgesic properties, etc.
- For skin diseases, through anti-inflammatory, scarring, circulatory properties, etc.
- For joint and muscle pain, through analgesic properties, anti-inflammatory, etc.
Of course, these broad areas of application are not exhaustive. There are hundreds of health/wellness problems that essential oils can effectively address.
