Precautions for use

Caution! Maritime pine essential oil is strong and should not be used by children under the age of 12.

Its use requires the advice of a health professional.

It should not be ingested and is therefore only used for dermal application (diluted), inhalation and diffusion.

Pregnant women can use it diluted up to 20% in air diffusion.

Other precautions

Warning: 

  • People with asthma or epilepsy should seek medical advice before using this essential oil. In fact, maritime pine essential oil carries an epileptogenic risk in high doses.
  • It is recommended not to use this essential oil for long periods without the advice of a therapist.

Cutaneous use:

  • Maritime Pine essential oil should be diluted to 10% for use on the skin (10% essential oil to 90% vegetable oil).

Diffusion:

  • Do not diffuse pure Maritime Pine essential oil; it should be diluted to 20% in other essential oils.
  • Pregnant women over three months can use this essential oil in diluted diffusion.

Allergenic components:

Maritime Pine essential oil contains an allergenic biochemical component:

  • limonene (≤5%)

Note: It is best to test the essential oil before use (two drops on the crease of the elbow for at least 24 hours to check for a reaction).
