Fig Syrup

Ingredients

  • 250 grams of dried figs
  • 125 g to 250 g honey
    • 125 g for a laxative syrup
    • 250 g for a cough syrup
  • 500 ml water

Preparation

  1. Cut the figs into small pieces.
  2. Place the figs in a saucepan and add the honey and water.
  3. Heat over low heat for one hour (make a reduction), stirring occasionally.
  4. Filter with the help of a juice compressor.
  5. Place in a labeled bottle.

Dosage

Drink one tablespoon of syrup 3-4 times a day (dose against cough and sore throat).

In cases of constipation, it is recommended that you take several tablespoons of this mixture in a single dose each day.

Observations

Figs are rich in fiber and are an interesting mild laxative working as a syrup, as well as fresh or dried fruit.
