Pertussinum

Pertussinum is a homeopathic remedy made from whooping cough sputum collected from people who have not yet been treated.

The homeopathic process, which consists of removing any toxic element in the sputum, is carried out from the dissolved cell remnants.

At the end of this process, the pertussis nosodes are preserved and converted into a remedy to cure pertussis itself.

These nosodes form the active ingredients of Pertussinum.

It is a remedy used in homeopathic biotherapy because it acts on the microbes and bacteria responsible for the symptoms of whooping cough.

Whooping cough

Pertussinum is indicated for the treatment of various types of whooping cough in children and adults.

In paediatrics, Pertussinum is recommended for the treatment of recurrent whooping cough in children who have caught a cold.

It is also used to relieve the cough associated with certain types of influenza.

It is also used to treat illnesses in adults who have had whooping cough.

Pertussinum can also be used prophylactically, but with great caution as it may have adverse effects.

Cough and sore throat

Pertussinum is indicated for the treatment of various types of cough that resemble whooping cough, such as coughs that cause increased redness in the back of the throat.

This redness is usually accompanied by itching of the throat, especially at night.

If the itching is not very pronounced, the person may feel a slight tickle in the back of the throat, leading to coughing fits.

Pertussinum is also used to relieve coughing associated with nausea and/or vomiting.

It is also ideal for people who are short of breath and who hiccup or wheeze when they cough.

The antitussive properties of Pertussinum can therefore be used to treat cough associated with laryngitis.

Pertussinum is recommended if the person's shortness of breath or choking is spasmodic, frequent and accompanied by severe chest pain.
