Precautions for use

Caution! This essential oil is not to be used by pregnant or breastfeeding women, or by young babies.

If niaouli essential oil is used for skin application, it must be diluted in vegetable oil.

People with epilepsy and asthma should seek medical advice before use.

It is also contraindicated in people with hormone-dependent conditions.

  • Consult a doctor before using niaouli essential oil in people with asthma.
  • Seek medical advice before using this essential oil in people with epilepsy due to the high epileptogenic risk.
  • For pregnant women and babies, diluted skin application is possible with medical advice.

Cutaneous use:

  • Niaouli essential oil is irritating to the skin, so it is recommended to dilute it 20% in vegetable oil (20% essential oil with 80% vegetable oil) before applying to the skin.

Diffusion:

  • This route of administration may be used by pregnant women and young children.

Contraindications:

  • Do not use niaouli essential oil if you have a hormone related condition.

Allergenic components:

Niaouli essential oil contains several biochemical allergenic components.

  • limonene (5 to 10%)
  • geraniol (≤ 1%)
  • linalool (≤ 1%)
  • eugenol (≤ 0.5%)

Note: It is best to test the essential oil before use (two drops on the crease of the elbow for at least 24 hours to check for a reaction).
