Torticollis (Wryneck)

Symptom Definition

Torticollis is an involuntary, painful contraction of one or more muscles in the neck. The most common symptoms of torticollis are:

  • Neck pain
  • Restricted head and neck movements

The person is unable to move the head naturally, especially to turn without pain, because the neck is tilted to one side, slightly forward or backward, depending on the pain.
