Snoring

Symptom Definition

Snoring is a condition that occurs during sleep and is characterised by an intense noise that can be harmful to the person and their partner. Snoring is the production of sounds from the back of the throat during sleep. It usually occurs during inspiration, the phase of breathing when the lungs fill with air. The larger the uvula, the louder the sound. Snoring can be accompanied by symptoms such as poor sleep, headaches on waking, high blood pressure, sore throat or irregular heartbeat.
