Symptom Definition
Spasmophilia is an anxiety attack associated with hyperventilation. It can cause pins and needles in the skin and tingling in the fingers, lips and face, as well as headache, heat, chills, shaking, shortness of breath and loss of consciousness.
The condition may also cause palpitations, a lump in the throat, raised eyelids, blurred vision, fatigue, tightness, chest pain, difficulty breathing or difficulty walking. The spasms may also cause pain (neck, back, legs) or heartburn, among other symptoms.
