Allergic rhinitis

Definition of the pathology

Allergic rhinitis is a genetic condition passed from parents to their children in which the mucous membrane of the nose becomes more sensitive and inflamed when it comes into contact with certain substances, causing an allergic reaction that causes symptoms such as sneezing, runny nose and itchy nose.

Generally, an attack of allergic rhinitis occurs after a person has been exposed to allergens such as dust, animal dander, pollen or some plants, and may be more common in spring or autumn.
