Bronchiolitis

Definition of the pathology

Bronchiolitis is a very common viral lung infection in babies under the age of 2 that causes inflammation of the narrow airways of the lungs called bronchioles. When these passages become inflamed, they increase the production of mucus that blocks the passage of air, causing breathing difficulties, wheezing, difficulty sleeping and rapid breathing.
