Cavities (Tooth decay)

Definition of the pathology

Dental caries is an infection of the teeth caused by bacteria naturally present in the mouth, which accumulate to form hard plaque that is difficult to remove at home. In this plaque, the bacteria gradually penetrate the tooth enamel, causing pain and discomfort when they reach the deeper parts of the teeth.
