Definition of the pathology

Amnesia is the loss of recent or old memories, which can be complete or partial, last from a few minutes to a few hours and disappear without treatment, or lead to permanent memory loss. In addition, amnesia can be retrograde, when older things are not remembered, or anterograde, when the memory loss occurs after the event that caused the memory loss, making it more difficult to construct new memories.
