Arnica Tincture

  • 10 gr dried arnica flowers
  • 100 ml of alcohol at 70°

Preparation

  1. Let the arnica flowers macerate for 2 to 4 weeks in 100 ml of 70° alcohol or vodka in a clear, airtight glass container; if possible, the mixture should be exposed to the sun.
  2. Stir the container every day.
  3. Filter.
  4. Then store away from light.

Dosage

Apply the prepared tincture in the form of compresses, directly on the desired location, 3 to 4 times a day (changing compresses each time).

By mixing one tablespoon of this arnica tincture with two tablespoons of honey, you get a cream that can be applied to the boils.

Observations

It is also possible, according to Liege's formula, to prepare a tincture of arnica by mixing 20 g of the prepared tincture and 50 g of glycerin (for sale in pharmacies) and 60 g of water. Use this mixture immediately, in the form of compresses.

Do not apply on an open (bleeding) wound or to the eyes.

This preparation is contraindicated for people allergic to arnica.
