Definition of the pathology

Hirsutism is a condition that can occur in women and is characterised by the presence of hair in areas of the body that are normally hairless, such as the face, chest, abdomen and inner thighs, and can be seen during puberty or menopause. This condition is usually associated with hormonal changes, with increased testosterone production or decreased estrogen production resulting in increased body hair.
