Alumina

Alumina is a homeopathic remedy made from alumina or aluminium oxide.

It is a chemical substance isolated from alum by the German chemist Andreas Sigismund Marggraf in 1754.

It should be noted that certain rocks, such as bauxite, contain alumina in its natural state.

This is industrially exploited to produce aluminium.

Aluminium oxide comes in various forms: granules, doses, drops, drinkable ampoules, triturations (oral powder) and suppositories.

The most common and widely used forms are granules and doses, which consist mainly of sucrose and lactose.

Drinking drops and ampoules are hydroalcoholic formulations.

Powders are made with lactose only.

Gastroenterology indications

Alumina is mainly prescribed for people who are extremely tired and for sedentary people who have to sit or lie down a lot.

It is also widely used in gastroenterology to treat rectal inertia constipation, where it takes a lot of effort to evacuate a small amount of stool.

It is also prescribed for anal fissure associated with constipation.

Dermatology indications

Aluminium oxide is also used to treat certain dermatological conditions, such as lichenification eczema, which is associated with dry skin, a tight feeling and a rash resembling dried egg white or spider web.

It also helps to control lichen planus, but should be used as part of a basic treatment.

Ophthalmology indications

In ophthalmology, Alumina is recommended for dry eye syndrome or contact lens intolerance.

The therapist may prescribe this product in cases of dizziness, disorientation, mental confusion or loss of motor coordination.
