Precautions for use
Caution! Siberian Fir essential oil is only suitable for adults (and children under certain conditions) and it is necessary for people with asthma or epilepsy to consult their doctor before use.
All methods of use are authorised, the most suitable being diffusion, alone or mixed with other essential oils.
Other precautions
Warning:
- People with asthma or epilepsy should seek medical advice before use.
Cutaneous use:
- Siberian fir essential oil is irritating to the skin and should be diluted to 20% in vegetable oil (20% essential oil with 80% vegetable oil) before application to the skin.
- Children can use it for skin application, but as they are more sensitive, it often needs to be diluted to 5% in a vegetable oil to avoid risk.
Ingestion:
- Siberian fir essential oil can be potentially nephrotoxic if taken in high doses over a long period of time.
Diffusion:
- Pregnant women, children and babies can use this essential oil in air diffusion.
Allergenic components:
Siberian Fir essential oil contains two biochemical allergenic components:
- limonene (≤ 5%)
- linalool (≤ 0.1%)
Note: It is best to test the essential oil before use (two drops on the crease of the elbow for at least 24 hours to check for a reaction).
