Vitamin C deficiency

Definition of the pathology

Vitamin C, also known as ascorbic acid, is a micronutrient found naturally in foods, especially citrus fruits such as acerola or orange. This vitamin is a powerful antioxidant and slows down cell ageing, but it is also involved in collagen formation, intestinal iron absorption, norepinephrine synthesis and the conversion of cholesterol into bile acids.
