Definition of the pathology

Ankylosing spondylitis, also known as spondylarthritis and, in more advanced stages, ankylosing spondylarthritis, is a chronic inflammatory disease characterised by a lesion in the spine in which the vertebrae fuse together, resulting in symptoms such as difficulty moving the spine and pain that improves with movement but worsens at rest.
