Bearberry Infusion



For one cup of infusion:

  • 4 g dried bearberry leaves
  • About 200 ml water

Preparation

  1. Heat water to boiling, then pour the boiling water onto the leaves.
  2. Let it infuse for 10 to 20 minutes (in order to get an effective dose of active ingredients).
  3. Filter.

Dosage

Drink 2 to 3 cups of this tea every day.

Special dosage for urinary tract infections:

  • For the first 48 hours:
    • Drink half a cup of this tea every 2 to 3 hours during the day (6 doses per day).
    • You can drink the tea hot or cold.
    • Take a 200 mg supplement of vitamin C every 2 to 3 hours.
    • Remember to drink plenty of fluids during urinary tract infections - at least 230 ml every 2 hours.
    • Usually, symptoms should improve within the first 8 to 10 hours of treatment.
    • If symptoms do not improve or worsen after 24 hours, see a doctor.
  • Days 3 to 5 (if symptoms have improved, otherwise see a doctor):
    • Drink half a cup of this tea 3 times a day.
    • Take 200 mg of vitamin C, 3 times a day.
    • Continue to drink plenty of fluids.
    • After 5 days, stop drinking bearberry tea.
    • Take vitamin C, 3 times a day for another 2 to 3 days.

Storage: 2 days in the refrigerator in a closed bottle.

Practical tip - Cold tea

As this tea can cause certain gastrointestinal side effects, it may be advisable to prepare a cold tea from this mixture.

To do this, let the dried bearberry leaves infuse for about 15 minutes in cold water and then filter.

When preparing this tea with cold water, the concentration of tannins should decrease; these substances can lead to digestive problems.
