Fennel Infusion



Ingredients

For one cup of fennel infusion, use:

  • 2 gr (1 teaspoon) of dried fennel fruit
  • A mortar (useful for extracting the essential oils contained in the fennel fruit)
  • About 200 ml water

Preparation

  1. The first step, which is recommended but not necessary, is to grind the dried fennel fruit in a mortar with a pestle to release the essential oil in the fruit.
  2. Next, add the crushed fruits into a cup.
  3. Boil the water and add it to the crushed fennel berries.
  4. Let it infuse for about ten minutes (to get an effective dose of active substances).
  5. Filter, especially in case there are fennel fruits left in the cup.
  6. Eventually add a teaspoon of honey to improve the taste.

Dosage

Drink a cup of fennel infusion one to three times a day. 

In case of colic in babies, have the baby drink a small amount (teaspoonful).

Optionally, add Anise (green or star) for better digestive effect, especially against bloating. (adults)
