Ferrum metallicum

Ferrum Metallicum is a homeopathic remedy derived from metallic iron.

Involved in the development of many medicines, iron is primarily used to treat anaemia caused by a lack of iron in the diet or in the body.

Haematology indications

Anaemia is a blood disorder characterised by a significant decrease in red blood cells.

Red blood cells carry oxygen from the lungs to the tissues of various organs in the body.

People with anaemia have a pale, white complexion, are easily short of breath and feel tired all the time.

The lack of oxygen can also cause migraines, which are usually accompanied by a feeling of dizziness or lightheadedness.

Thanks to Ferrum Metallicum, it is possible to relieve most of the symptoms associated with anaemia.

Rheumatology indications

Ferrum Metallicum is also used in rheumatology to relieve shoulder rheumatism.

It is used to treat pain in the deltoid, a muscle that connects the arm to the collarbone.

When this muscle is affected, the person has difficulty opening their arms and may even be paralysed by the pain.

In some cases, the pain spreads to the hands, making it difficult to write.

The hands become cold and stiff, and cramps may occur.

Ferrum metalicum can also be given for pain or weakness in the legs and knees.

It is also recommended for lower back pain that prevents the person from sleeping at night.

Gynaecology indications

Ferrum Metallicum is used in gynaecology to treat problems associated with heavy menstrual periods.

It is used to treat menorrhagia, a disorder characterised by heavy menstrual bleeding of a bright red colour.

These periods usually occur every two weeks and are aggravated by sudden movements.

Ferrum Metallicum also helps with uterine bleeding with excessive blood loss, tinnitus, pallor of the face, nausea, dizziness and recurrent migraines.

This homeopathic remedy can also be used to relieve certain symptoms of the menopause.

Finally, Ferrum Metallicum is recommended for vaginal dryness or pain with unpleasant consequences during sexual intercourse.
