Sulfuricum acidum

Sulfuricum acidum is derived from sulphuric acid, which is characterised by its corrosiveness.

Sulfuric acid can cause irreversible damage to the eyes and skin, so precautions must be taken when handling it.

Diluted, however, Sulphuricum acidum has become a homeopathic remedy for heartburn, which usually occurs after a fast meal.

Gastro-oesophageal reflux treatment

Gastro-oesophageal reflux is defined as the passage of a quantity of acid from the stomach into the oesophagus, causing acid and sometimes even pieces of undigested food to come back up.

Gastro-oesophageal reflux can affect any healthy individual, but sometimes it becomes a pathology if the reflux is frequent.

To remedy this, the homeopath often prescribes Sulfuricum acidum to prevent acid reflux.

The person may also feel an insatiable need to consume fresh fruit to feel better, or alcoholic stimulants to relieve the attacks.

Heartburn treatment

Sulfuricum acidum helps to treat heartburn, which is only one of the symptoms of gastro-oesophageal reflux.

During the intermittent attack, the patient produces a sour belch and the stomach is sore when he leaves the table.

In this form of gastric dysregulation, Sulphuricum Acidum acts directly on the stomach to combat heartburn and relieve the pain in the stomach, preventing the gastric acid from reaching the oesophageal sphincter.

Treatment of colic associated with asthenia

Some types of diarrhoea are accompanied by fatigue and abdominal and back pain.

In this sense, diarrhoea appears as a series of flatulence episodes, and only the drinking of soft drinks seems to relieve the stomach during the episodes.

To prevent the recurrence of such crises, it is advisable to take Sulphuricum acidum, the dosage of which will be prescribed by the homeopath.

Treatment for diarrhoea associated with fainting

If the diarrhoea is manifested by frothy stools with yellowish mucus and an acidic odour, it is best to take Sulfuricum acidum.

Sometimes a person feels that their stomach is empty after each bowel movement, and they feel nauseous or dizzy when they defecate, to the point of fainting.

This discomfort may be accompanied by bloody or black stools.

In this case the appropriate homeopathic remedy is Sulphuricum acidum.

Treatment for alcohol dependence

Sulfuricum acidum is involved in gastric reflux due to alcoholism.

In this type of situation, the person produces eructations, sometimes followed by bleeding, and on further diagnosis is found to be suffering from pancreatitis.

The patient may even have some mental impairment.
