Precautions for use

Caution! Lemonmint essential oil should not be used by pregnant or breastfeeding women or young children.

It is not recommended for people with asthma and presents an allergenic risk due to its high concentration of linalool.

It also poses a risk similar to that of oestrogen.

Its oral use requires medical advice.

Other precautions

Cutaneous use:

  • For use on the skin, it is best to dilute 20% lemonmint essential oil in vegetable oil (20% essential oil and 80% vegetable oil).

Ingestion:

  • Oral use of lemonmint requires medical advice.

Contraindications: 

  • People with asthma or epilepsy should seek medical advice before use.

Allergenic components:

Citronella essential oil is high in biochemical allergenic components:

  • Linalool (22 to 25%)
  • Geraniol (<1%)
  • Citronellol (<1%)

Note: It is best to test the essential oil before use (two drops on the crease of the elbow for at least 24 hours to check for a reaction).
